- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 large egg (room temperature)
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup mashed overripe bananas (about 2 large)
- 3/4 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F and line an 8×8 baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together softened butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Mix in the egg, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.
- Gently fold in the flour until just incorporated.
- Carefully add the mashed bananas and about 3/4 of the chocolate chips into the batter.
- Pour the mixture into the baking pan and sprinkle remaining chocolate chips on top.
- Bake for 33-37 minutes or until edges are golden brown and center is set.
- Allow to cool completely before slicing into squares.
