  • 1 pound fresh salmon
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh ginger (grated)
  • Olive oil and butter for cooking

Instructions

  1. Prepare the salmon by cutting it into four pieces and patting dry; season with salt and pepper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic powder, lemon juice, ginger, Worcestershire sauce, chicken broth (or water), and cornstarch until smooth.
  3. Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add salmon skin-side down and cook for 5 minutes.
  4. Flip the salmon over and cook for another 2–3 minutes until nearly cooked through.
  5. Add remaining butter to the skillet and pour in the glaze. Let it bubble for about 20–30 seconds before removing from heat.
  6. Spoon extra glaze over salmon before serving.
