Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 and 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 to 2 tart apples (peeled and chopped)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease an 8-inch springform pan and line the bottom with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix together dry ingredients for the streusel: flour, brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Add melted butter and vanilla; stir until moist.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream together melted butter and sugars until fluffy. Beat in the egg, then mix in vanilla and sour cream.
  4. In another bowl, combine dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture; stir until just combined.
  5. Spread half of the batter into the prepared pan. Layer chopped apples on top, sprinkle with streusel crumbs, then cover with remaining batter and more crumbs.
  6. Bake for 35–40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  7. Cool before drizzling with glaze made from powdered sugar and apple cider.
