  • 2 pounds ground beef (80/20)
  • 15.5 ounces kidney beans
  • 15.5 ounces chili hot beans
  • 29 ounces diced tomatoes
  • 8 ounces tomato sauce
  • 3 tablespoons chili powder (divided)
  • 2 tablespoons cumin
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • ½ tablespoon garlic powder
  • ½ tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Dice the onion, green pepper, and garlic.
  2. In a large pan over medium heat, warm the olive oil. Sauté the diced vegetables for 2–3 minutes until softened.
  3. Add the ground beef to the pan and cook until just browned. Sprinkle with 2 tablespoons of chili powder while cooking.
  4. Transfer the meat mixture to your slow cooker. Add all remaining ingredients: beans, tomatoes, tomato sauce, and spices. Stir well.
  5. Set your slow cooker on low heat and cook for approximately 4 hours until flavors meld beautifully.
