  • 12 oz broccoli florets
  • 6 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce (or vegetarian substitute)
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1.5 tbsp shaoxing wine (or Dry Sherry Wine)
  • 1.5 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1.5 tsp cornstarch
  • 3/4 tsp sugar
  • 3/4 cup cold water

Instructions

  1. Wash and strain the broccoli florets thoroughly.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the minced garlic, oyster sauce, soy sauce, shaoxing wine, sesame oil, cornstarch, sugar, and cold water to create the sauce.
  3. Bring a wok or large pan halfway filled with water to boil. Blanch the strained broccoli for 2-3 minutes until crisp-tender; then strain.
  4. Dry the wok or pan and heat it over medium heat. Pour in the prepared sauce and simmer for 1-2 minutes until thickened.
  5. Combine the garlicky sauce with the broccoli on a serving plate and enjoy immediately.
