  • 1 cup uncooked long-grain white rice
  • 1 packet French onion soup mix
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella or Swiss cheese
  • ½ cup French-fried onions
  • Garlic powder, salt, and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef; drain excess grease and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine uncooked rice, French onion soup mix, and beef broth. Stir well.
  4. Add the cooked beef and sour cream to the rice mixture; stir until combined.
  5. Transfer to the baking dish; top with shredded cheese.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 40 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until cheese is bubbly.
