  • ½ cup very cold heavy cream
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon chai spice blend
  • 1 heaping cup powdered sugar
  • 2 teaspoons chai spice blend
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a food processor, pulse flour, sugar, baking powder, chai spice blend, and salt.
  3. Add cold diced butter; pulse until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together heavy cream and eggs. Gradually add to dry ingredients until dough forms.
  5. Shape dough into a disc; chill for 30 minutes. Roll to about 1 inch thick and cut into wedges.
  6. Place on prepared baking sheet and brush with egg wash. Bake for 20-22 minutes until golden.
  7. While cooling, mix glaze ingredients until smooth. Drizzle over warm scones before serving.
