  • 12 tablespoons whipping cream (as needed)
  • 1 cup white sugar (for caramel sauce)
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter (cut into 5 pieces, for caramel sauce)
  • 1/2 cup whipping cream (for caramel sauce)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for caramel sauce)
  • 1/4 teaspoon coarse salt (for caramel sauce)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, pumpkin pie spice, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix oil, sugars, eggs, vanilla extract, and pumpkin puree until smooth.
  4. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry mixture; stir until just combined.
  5. Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for about 35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
