Ingredients
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 2/3 cup canned pumpkin
- 1 large egg
- 5 tbsp melted butter, cooled
- 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1/2 to 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice, optional
- 1 cup dark chocolate chips, divided (3/4 cup for batter, 1/4 cup for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a bread pan.
- In a bowl, mash bananas and mix in the egg, melted butter, vanilla extract, pumpkin, and brown sugar until combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder, and optional pumpkin pie spice.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just combined; do not overmix.
- Fold in 3/4 cup of chocolate chips and pour the batter into the prepared pan. Sprinkle remaining chocolate on top.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean from the center. Allow cooling before slicing.
